Born in 1969 in Albany, New York, Foti has been a self taught musician since the age of 14. He has performed in numerous venues and teaches bass guitar, violin, and classical guitar.
As he started a family of his own in 2000, he looked to channel his creativity into more art forms. Starting with classic European, hand run, molded ornamental plaster work. He immersed himself in this lost art, by studying 19th century books and with a lot of practice he started to restore plaster moldings in older buildings and creating new designs. By 2002, Foti was producing his own moldings, paste compo enrichments, scagliola marble slabs, and much more. A natural element inherent in ornamental plaster design was the ability to draw and design ideas on paper first. At this point his passion for drawing was sparked. He drew his first portrait at 36, and within a few years began to immerse himself fully into the fine arts. Not only is Foti's work original and masterful, he became his children's main art instructor, in which they have flourished and created many works of art that have won awards and they have aquired many commisions. All of Foti's artwork is procured with top archival quality paints and stretched/prepped canvas. His artwork spans from pencil and charcoal drawings, plein air paintings, portraits, landscapes, still life, and whatever else he is inspired to create. Foti's goal is to create works of art that speak to the viewer, question reality, inspire greatness, and leave you wanting more. |
